St Mary's Prays
Older members of St Marys school community would be saddened to hear of the passing of Honk Mulcahy. Honk was the school cleaner for many years and always had a smile and friendly word for staff and students. We extend our sympathy to his family and friends.
Last Friday four of St Mary’s Year 5 students expressed their interest in participating in an online zoom session for a Mini Vinnies Inter-School Social Justice workshop.
Larna Pilon, Freddie Bell, Amelia- Rose Blampied and Marlee Wendt joined other schools from our Archdiocese and had in depth discussions with the central theme being RESPECT.
One of the organisers, Matt Wilson sent an email to state that they, 'Were very pleased by the maturity of discussion and the participation from each group.' Well done, Larna, Freddie, Amelia-Rose and Marlee for being great ambassadors for our school.
As we hastily approach Advent, the season in which we prepare for the birth of Jesus, we pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, this Advent season, we especially are in need of peace. War rages on in our world. It impacts the daily lives of millions in different ways. This year, as much as ever, we need Jesus, Prince of Peace, in our world and in our hearts. During Advent in 2022, we pray that Jesus transforms our world as we await His coming again.
Amen
