Western Region Athletics
On Friday the 16th of June a large group of St Mary's athletes travelled to Tumut to compete at the Western Region carnival.
St Mary's has a great sporting history and this year was no different, all of our athletes performed very well in every event they participated in. It was wonderful to see the students cheering each other on and the excitement during the relays. A great display of sportsmanship by St Mary's students.
Jimmy Dean won a major award on the day, Senior Boy Runner Up Champion, which was due to his hard effort in every event.
Congratulations to the students who qualified for Archdiocesan Athletics to be held in Canberra on 22 August.
Max Cuthbertson, James Dean, Indi Fair, Meila Fair, Will McDonell, Alexandra Patton, Billy Pettit, Hugh Ridley, Nate Sams, Ricky Smith and Edward Tulloch.
What a fantastic effort!
NSWPSSA Rugby League Trials
Eddie Tulloch spent Monday to Thursday last week in Wagga representing MacKillop at the NSWPSSA Rugby League trials.
By all reports, Eddie played very well against some very stiff competition. It was a significant achievement making the MacKillop side and Eddie has gained some wonderful experience to further his development in Rugby League.
Congratulations Eddie!
MacKillop Rugby Union Trials
Jimmy Dean was in Forbes yesterday and today at the MacKillop Rugby Union trials.
Jimmy was part of the Canberra Goulburn team who played teams from Wollongong, Parramatta, Wagga and Sydney with the competition being fierce.
Jimmy played extremely well making the possibles and probables component of hte day. Unfortunately he didn't get selected for the MacKillop side, however making the Canberra Goulburn team was a wonderful achievement.
Well done Jimmy!
