A Message from our Acting Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Week 7. A short week, but a busy week. The St Mary’s Community Council met last Tuesday evening and discussed the finer details of the new model adopted by many other schools in the Archdiocese. The Community Council welcomed Sarah Curry to the executive as the parent representative. She brings the energy and expertise required to help assist the school in its day to day operations. Please see her message in this week’s newsletter. Many thanks to Sarah Rose from the Catholic Education Office in Canberra who joined us for the meeting and shared with us her expertise in the running of the Community Council. Many thanks to the number of parents who joined us for our meeting at 6pm. Unfortunately, Amy Pursehouse has stepped down from her role as secretary on the Community Council. I would personally like to thank her for her professionalism, support and service to St Mary’s. This role will be filled at the next meeting. If you are interested in this position please contact the front office. This newsletter will also feature our fabulous community council members!!
Tomorrow, we will hold our school athletics carnival at McAllister oval that was postponed from last week. We look forward to some fantastic results and I would like to pass on a sincere thank you to all those who will assist in ensuring the day runs smoothly.
As we are well and truly into the colder time of year, we have completed our first week of wearing our winter uniforms. I’d like to thank all students and parents for ensuring everyone is wearing their St Mary’s school uniform with pride.
This week’s newsletter will feature our awesome Year 3 students!!
Remember my door is always open.
Acting Principal
Damian Collins
