A Message from our Principal
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to Week 2. It was lovely to wander around classrooms last week to see how our students at St Mary’s have settled in and how engaged they are in their schooling for 2025.
On Tuesday the 25th of February we will hold the Community Council Annual General Meeting and Open Meeting. The idea of this meeting is to elect a new Chair to the Community Council and to give members of our school community the opportunity to voice any issues they have or anything they would like to raise. If you have an item for the agenda, they must be sent to damian.collins@cg.catholic.edu.au prior to the meeting.
Please note we have had to change the date of our Opening Mass to Thursday the 20thof February. All are invited to attend!! Our Year 6 leaders will receive their badges at this Mass.
Our annual swimming carnival will be held on Friday evening at Holland Park pool with infants beginning at 5pm and the primary carnival beginning at 5:30pm. Congratulations to the following students who were voted in on Friday to lead their sporting houses.
Scarlette Orr – McAuley
Molly Gaynor – Tenison-Woods
Marcus Murrells – MacKillop
Next week we will hold our ‘Getting to know you’ parent teacher interviews which will be open to you on Compass tomorrow. They will be 10 minutes and will give you the opportunity to talk to your child’s teacher about how we can help your child and for you, as a parent, to give invaluable insight into your child’s needs. As these interviews are early in the year, they are not a chance to provide feedback on how your child is progressing.
Remember my door is always open.
Principal
